New Delhi, Feb 3 (ANI): Former Chief Information Commissioner Wajahat Habibullah on Thursday took over as National Commission for Minorities (NCM) chairperson.

Habibullah has joined in place of Mohammed Shafi Qureshi, whose term ended in September last year.

He will hold this office for a period of three years from today.

An ex-IAS officer, Habibullah earlier served the Government of India in various capacities and also as the Chief Information Commissioner.

After assuming the office Habibullah held a meeting of the Commission and also met the senior officers of the Commission.

Keki N. Daruwalla also took over as a Member of the National Commission for Minorities today.

With this, all the vacancies in the Commission have been filled; and it now has a Chairman, a Vice-Chairman and five other Members. (ANI)
