Christina Applegate 'lost it' when surgeon came to remove her breasts
Washington, September 30 (ANI): Cancer survivor Christina Applegate has opened up about the emotional turmoil involved in her decision to receive a double-mastectomy, admitting that she was in tears when a surgeon came to remove her breasts.
The Emmy Award-winning actress, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, had thought that she had toughened against the devastating news when she gave the go-ahead to her doctor.
However, the 'Anchorman' star revealed on Oprah Winfrey's U.S. talk show, that when the doctor brought in the surgeon to carry out the double mastectomy, she broke down.
"I was just gonna let them (breasts) go... and then, when I met with my doctor and I told him that was my decision and he brought the surgeon in, it was like the floodgates just opened up and I lost it," Contactmusic quoted her as saying.
The actress further revealed that somehow she always suspected to be diagnosed with cancer since her mother is a two-time breast cancer survivor.
"There was this part of me that sort of knew that the other shoe was gonna drop," she added. (ANI)
