Flipkart is set to have the exclusive rights to sell Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, from what is evident in a new Teaser on Twitter handle of the e-commerce site. The phone by the Chinese manufacturing company is expectedly going on sale on January 19.
There was a series of tweets on January 14 on Flipkart's Twitter account, the first one saying “India's new all-rounder is visiting us on January 19th. One of the best in India! Any guesses who it is?” To spice things up, Ravindra Jadeja, the famous all-rounder of Indian Cricket team, commented on the post and feigned that he mistook it as an announcement related to him. And then there were subsequent posts by Flipkart and Redmi clearing the confusion with due respect to the player.
The e-commerce giant, in an eventual video tweet, summed up the whole thing and of course, the whole exchange on the social networking platform was part of the marketing gimmick for promoting the upcoming phone. The favourite online shopping site of the Indians also touted the multitasking device as the possessor of stunning looks, lightning-fast speed, incredible stamina and complete functions.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was rolled out in China in August last year and has a 5.5-inch full HD display with 2.5D curved glass and resolution of 1080 pixel. It is deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor with Mali-T880 MP4 GPU that runs the device. However, it is expected to be coming with Snapdragon 625 SoC in India, since the company is not permitted to sell MediaTek phones here. In terms of imaging, the phone has Dual-tone LED Flash enabled 13-megapixel camera in the front with PDAF and 5-megapixel selfie shooter with 85-degree wide angle lens.
The phone was launched in two variants in China - 2 GB RAM/ 16 GB inbuilt storage (INR 9000 approx.) and 3 GB RAM / 64 GB inbuilt storage (INR 12000 approx.) Whether the same will be launched in India remains to be seen.
