Mumbai, Jan 13 (IANS) The key Indian equity indices were trading in the red during the afternoon session on Friday.
The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) was trading 80.99 points or 0.30 per cent lower.
The wider 51-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was trading 29.10 points or 0.35 per cent lower at 8,378.10 points.
The Sensex of the BSE, which opened at 27,378.01 points, was trading at 27,166.17 points (at 2.23 p.m), lower by 80.99 points or 0.30 per cent from the previous day's close at 27,247.16 points.
The Sensex has touched a high of 27,459.75 points and a low of 27,143.07 points in the trade so far.
Heavy selling pressure was seen in IT, technology, media and entertainment (TECK) and telecom sectors.
