Delhi BJP Remembers Freedom Fighters Under Party's National Programme Azaadi 70 Saal...Zara Yaad Karo Qurbani

New Delhi, 19th August: As a part of Bharatiya Janata Party's national programme Azaadi 70 Saal...Zara Yaad Karo Qurbani honouring the renowned freedom fighters during the 70th year of India's Independence today Delhi BJP organised small remembrance functions at Sitaram Bazar, Red Fort in Old Delhi and near Transport Bhawan in New Delhi. Delhi BJP leaders Shri Ashish Sood, Shri Abhay Verma, Shri Mahender Gupta, Shri Suman Kumar Gupta, Shri Atif Rasheed & Shri Suresh Sharma were part of the organising committee.  

Union Minister of State Rao Inderjeet Singh & former Union Minister Shri Shahnawaz Hussain visited the birth place of Smt. Kamla Nehru at Old Delhi's Sitaram Bazar. The two leaders garlanded the photographs of Smt. Kamla Nehru and Shri Moti Lal Nehru at a small function outside the Haveli where Smt. Kamla Nehru was born.

At another function organised just outside the Lahore Gate of the Red Fort, Rao Inderjeet Singh & Shri Shahnawaz Hussain garlanded the especially put up portrait of last Mughal Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar.

Speaking on the occasion Rao Inderjeet Singh said that Bahadur Shah Zafar extended his support rather himself joined the first acknowledged movement for independence launched by Indians in 1857. The country will always be indebted to Bahadur Shah Zafar who not only himself fought against the Britishers but sacrificed sons too for the cause of India's independence.

Later Rao Inderjeet & Shri Shahnawaz Hussain went to the Mazhaar of freedom fighter and late President of India Shri Fakhruddin Ali Ahmad and offered floral tributes.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Shahnawaz Hussain said that Shri Fakhruddin Ali Ahmad played a pivotal role during the freedom movement but more than that he was known for his role as an educationist. He was a man of versatile interest whose contribution to literature was as wide as his participation in politics.
