Pradesh Media Incharge has demanded that Lt. Governor should immediately issue directions to the Excise Commissioner and Delhi Police Commissioner to cancel licenses of barshalas
New Delhi, 12th August: Delhi BJP President Shri Satish Upadhyay has said the dual character of Kejriwal Government and Aam Aadmi Party has been exposed before the people of Delhi and the country. He said that Kejriwal came to power by promising to open 500 schools in Delhi but he has not opened even a single new school in Delhi till date. Instead his government is opening Barshalas in place of Pathshala(schools) in Delhi. He said that since Kejriwal Government came to power Delhi has seen abnormal rise of wine shops, night clubs and pubs. BJP strongly opposes it and will soon stage demonstrations against this.
In a letter written to the Lt. Governor of Delhi, BJP Delhi Media Incharge Shri Praveen Shankar Kapoor has drawn the attention of Lt. Governor Shri Najeeb Jung towards the Barshalas being opened in Delhi in the name of Government Wine Shops. These Bar-Shalas have already been opened at six places including New Delhi Station, Karkarduma, GK-II, Janakpuri and the board on the door says "Sagat Ka Samay" 11 am to 12.30 pm as if it is not the timing of Bar-Shala rather a "Sankirtan"Programme. BJP strongly objects to the naming of these bars as Bar-Shala because some how it ridicules the word Path-Shala (School).
Drawing the attention of the Lt. Governor towards Barshalas & Pubs being opened on the roof tops in various parts of Delhi including Connaught Place and Night Clubs being opened with names like Nehru Place Social and Odeon Social, Shri Praveen Shankar Kapoor has demanded that the Lt. Governor should immediately issue directions to the Excise Commissioner and Delhi Police Commissioner to cancel their licenses.
It has been stated in the letter that although the Wine Shops are closed at 10 pm, the Bars are allowed to remain open till 12:30 pm. Men and Youth of lower-middle class families can be seen sitting there till late in the night.
Letter states that licenses are being issued for opening Pubs on the Roof Tops in Connaught Place & various Malls of Delhi and Night Clubs like Nehru Place Social in various colonies which will adversely affect the youth.
Shri Kapoor said that Kejriwal Government which claims to be working against alcoholism has been fully exposed before the people and due to this bad policy of the Government the youth are becoming victim to wine & drug addiction.
