Director Dipu Karunakaran's action-emotional film 'Mission Tiger' is based on a story his friend, senior Indian Forest Service (IFS) official T. R. Bijulal had narrated, which the former then developed into a script.

"The concept and story of saving tigers developed in my mind during my IFS training period itself. I got an opportunity to work with WWF, an NGO famous for saving tigers. I personally experienced some real incidents of man-animal conflict in front of my eyes.

Wen my friend cum director of this movie Dipu Karunakaran came to visit the Badrinath temple, I recited this story line and he really liked my concept. Within few months, the script, screenplay and dialogues were all developed by him," Bijulal, a 2004 batch Indian Forest Service official, said in an interview.

'Mission Tiger' stars popular actor Vijay Raaz in an intense role. The film talks about the problem of tiger poaching in the country and the prominent need to save tigers from the mean business of poaching.

Revealing details about the shoot of the film, Bijulal added, "Auditions happened in Delhi and Nainital and talented artists from National School of Drama and some professional artists from Bollywood were selected. The shooting was held in Nainital and Ramnagar areas in few phases and completed in few years.

This is how India's and may be the world's first and only movie to save tigers was born, with love and pranams for awareness of tiger conservation."

'Mission Tiger' is jointly produced by Saju Fortune and Leegesh S.L. under the banner Fortune Cinemas. The film is releasing on International Tiger day, 29th July.
