India's first semi-high speed train starting today from Agra to Delhi will cover the distance in just 100 minutes.
Now it won't take much of your time to reach Agra from Delhi as India's first semi high speed train is all set to be introduced on Indian railway system from 5th April 2016 onwards. The train is named as Gatimaan Express which is capable of running at a maximum speed of 160 KMPH. The train will run between H.Nizammuddin station and Agracantt station. Gatimaan express flagged off today by railway minister Suresh Prabhu with several other delegates. Suresh Prabhu said "Launching of 'Gatimaan Express' is an important step for our Railways".
The purpose was not only to provide a high speed train but also with world class facilities on board catering is available with different kind of cuisines option which is being organized by railway PSU namely Indian Railway Catering and tourism Corporation. IRCTC has also planned to deploy train hostesses to help and facilitate the passengers another unique feature of this train is now passengers can avail the facility of free of cost entertainment. Under this Facility passengers can now watch various entertaining videos during travel on their smart phone, tablets or on laptops through WiFi.
Gatimaan express using new LHB coaches which are manufactured in Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala. Best thing about these coaches are they are fitted with bio-toilets and fit to run at 160 kmph. New systems has been installed to make these coaches microburst free and various sceneries have been pasted inside to give it a better look. The train will be hauled by electrical engine WAP 5 with horse power of 5500HP.
Gatimaan Express will run six days in a week except Friday. This train will carry the numbers 12050/12049 on its regular trip. the 12049 Agracantt - H.Nizamuddin Gatimaan express will start its first its first regular from from today itself from Agracantt at 5.50 pm to reach Delhi at 7.30 pm and the regular run of train number 12050 from H.Nizamuddin to Agra will start from tomorrow at 8.10 am to reach Agracantt station at 9.50 am.
'Gatimaan' Express train will comprise of Two Executive AC Chair Car and Eight AC Chair Car .Fare for two executive AC chair Car is Rs.750 and for Eight AC Chair CAR fare is Rs.1500
