First trailer of upcoming Hindi movie Azhar on the life of famous cricket player Mohammad Azharuddin, released on the Youtube channel.
Mohammad Azharuddin is one of the most celebrated cricket captains of India. Who led India in 3world cups and represented India in 99 Tests and more than 300 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) later on became he most controversial sportsman yet, as he was proven guilty in year 2000 for being a part of match fixing scandal and banned for life. MrAzharuddin had been in controversies for more one reason.
He again came in controversy when he tied knots with bollywood actress Sangeeta Bijlani while he was already married to Naureen and just like his professional his marriage didn't ended well and they got legally separated in 2010. But apart from all these Azharuddin formally joined the Indian National Congress party on 19 February 2009. He contested the Indian general election, 2009 from Moradabad in western Uttar Pradesh.
In the year 2015, news came in that there is a movie going to be made on his life. Film is based on some real life events of cricketer Azharuddin chronicles the highs and lows of the life and offers an insight into his inner world for the first time. From his humble beginnings, to his meteoric rise in the world of cricket, from his marriages with Naureen and later with film star Sangeeta Bijlani, the trailer captures it all.
Imran Hashmi is palying the role of cricket player Mohammad Azharuddin in the movie. Its not the first time Imran Hashmi is a part of film that involves cricket scandals. In his film "Jannat" which was released in 2012, also dealt with the issue of match fixing. We will also see Lara Dutta , Prachi Desai and Nargis Farkri as a cast. In the film Lara Datta played a role of lawyer who is labeling Azhar as a match fixer. Wherein Prachi played part of Naureen and Nargis played character of Azharuddin's second wife Sangeeta Bijlani.
It seems real life stories of famous cricket player are attracting many bollywood directors, an upcoming film called M.S. Doni is just another example staring Sushant Singh Rajput as Mahendra Singh Dhoni . This film will be releasing later this year
