On Sunday afternoon, Hon'ble Governor, Himachal Pradesh, Acharya Sh Dev Vrat, visited the Surajkund International Crafts Mela at Faridabad. The Hon'ble Governor and his family were extended a warm welcome at the Dhanteshwari gate by Dr Sumita Misra, Principal Secretary to Government of Haryana, Tourism Department-cum-Chairperson, Surajkund Mela Authority and Sh Vikas Yadav, Managing Director, Haryana Tourism-cum-Chief Administrator, Surajkund Mela Authority.
Hon'ble Governor visited the Haryana's Apna Ghar and as a mark of respect, he was tied the ceremonial Haryanavi turban. He also visited a couple of stalls and later, he along with his family proceeded to the Chaupal and enjoyed watching the performances of the international troupes. He complimented the efforts of Haryana Tourism and Surajkund Mela Authority that organize the Surajkund International Crafts Mela at such a grand scale.
He further added that this Mela evokes a great response from countries across the globe and the participation of nearly two dozen countries epitomize that the Mela has grown by leaps and bounds. He also stated that this Mela has given impetus to handicrafts and helped in employment generation.
Later, Hon'ble Governor Acharya Sh Dev Vrat and his family were also honoured on the Chaupal.
