Lenovo has finally fixed the launch date of the Moto M in India and it is on December 13. The launch event will take place in Mumbai, for which the invitations have been flown already to the media.
Lenovo has already unveiled its latest model in China in the month of November and had not disclosed the date of its coming to India. Recently on November 28, Moto India has posted an image on the official twitter account, in which “coming soon” was written over a blurred picture with the logo of Moto and Lenovo, to create a required stir before the phone gets official in the country. There was this tweet saying “something different is coming your way”, which probably suggested a different looking phone. A few teasing tweets followed for days after and finally there is the news of this official unboxing has arrived for the Moto lovers. The functionalities and look of the Moto M was leaked earlier to its official unveiling.
From what we know about the specifications of this new model, it can be referred to as the modified version of Moto G4 Plus, since many internal features of the latter are incorporated in this phone. The all-metallic exterior of the phone is being given much emphasis by the company, since earlier Moto had lent such exterior finish to its premium phones only. Running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, the promising Smartphone, with rounded edges, features antenna bands which run on the top and bottom edges of its backside. It sports a 5.5 inch, full HD (1080x1920 pixel) 2.5 D IPS display. The 16-megapixel rear camera comes with an f/2.0 aperture, dual-LED flash and PDAF (phase-detection auto focus) and an 8-megapixel front camera.
Another interesting feature of this model is the fingerprint scanner at the back, which is the first time for a Moto phone. The handset, supported by latest 2.2 GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P15 processor, instead of Qualcomm, comes bundled with 32 GB internal storage (expandable upto 128 GB via micro SD card) and 4 GB LPDDR3 Ram. The phone is dust proof and water proof which is again a welcome feature after its removal from G4 Plus model. It comes with nano-coating which means it is tolerant to light splashes of rain. Moto M contains a hybrid dual-SIM slot which means that the second SIM slot of the phone supports micro-SIM.
The Dolby Atmos sound technology, which was seen in the Lenovo phones, has now been incorporated for the first time in this Moto phone. The 4G supporting handset with VoLTE houses 3050 mAh battery which can also be fast-charged. The device supports Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, USB3.1 (Type-C) and 3.5mm connectivity options.
The Smartphone was priced at CNY 1,999 (USD 290 approx.) during its first launch which comes down to around to INR 19,600, if the price is kept same by the company. With so many decent features packed in elegantly designed box, the phone would hopefully make it big in the Indian markets, for keeping aside Moto Z and Moto Z Play, it is certainly the best among Moto phones.
