The Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to The Constitution Man Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his 61st death anniversary today, which is being observed as “Nirvan Diwas.”
Narendra Modi said in tweet, “I bow to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on his Nirvan Diwas. India will always be thankful to Babasaheb for his rich service to the nation.”
Babasaheb Ambedkar was one of the architects of the Indian Constitution. He was a well-known politician and an eminent jurist. Ambedkar’s efforts to eradicate the social evils like untouchability and caste restrictions were remarkable.

He was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honor in 1990.
