New Delhi, Nov 14 (IANS) Nobel Peace Prize laureate and child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi on Monday appealed to leaders of all political parties to devote at least one full day of the upcoming Parliament session to deliberate on children's issues.

"The fight against child labour, child trafficking and child sexual abuse needs higher political will. Although significant progress has been made for the protection of child rights, critical challenges continue due to gaps in policy and their implementation. More serious efforts are needed in this regard," Satyarthi said in a statement.

President Pranab Mukherjee is to inaugurate a two-day summit focused on child slavery and other forms of violence against children, organised by Satyarthi, in December which may see the presence of 25 Noble laureates.
