Delhi Police starts 'inquest' in ex-serviceman's suicide

New Delhi, Nov 3 (IANS) Delhi Police on Thursday said it has started "inquest proceedings" into the death of ex-serviceman Ram Kishan Grewal and handed over his suicide case to the Crime Branch unit.

Considering the gravity of the issue, the case was on Thursday handed over to the Crime Branch following the order of Delhi Police Commissioner Alok Kumar Verma.

"We have taken over the case. Inquest proceedings have been initiated," Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Ravindra Yadav said.

Grewal on Tuesday committed suicide by consuming poison in a Delhi park over the One Rank One Pension scheme.
