Meizu Pro 6S Plus Still Under Dark, It's Time For Meizu Pro 6S

New Delhi, Thu, 06 Oct 2016 NI Wire

Among all the budget device makers, Meizu is one booming smartphone manufacturer that has won accolades for its flagships in the past.

Earlier, Meizu was in news for its Pro 6. The device was praised and admired for its wonderful design, features and performance. Keeping up the fervor, Meizu had announced of its successor in the form of Meizu Pro 6S Plus. Ever since this announcement, people had been eagerly waiting to get a hand on the flagship. However, Meizu didn't give any official confirmation on the same. There was no word from the company for long.

However, in a recent turn of events, Meizu gave out the final word regarding the launch of Meizu Pro 6S. The news was confirmed by Li Nan, Meizu's VP sales and marketing. He gave confirmation on the speculated news and sated that the company is planning for its next flagship.

Sadly, it's not going to be Pro 6S. Earlier there was rumor that the successor of Pro 6, the Pro 6S Plus will bring in some important changes in regards to the features and design. The rumors got strong when a device with Exynos 8890 was anticipated to be Meizu Pro 6S Plus. But if go with the latest news as confirmed by Nan, this device has been scrapped by the company.

The New Device

Speaking about the cancellation of the Meizu Pro 6S Plus, Nan briefly stated that the motive for this annulment is connected to dual 4G network policy. However, he refrained from delving into more details.

This apparently makes it clear that this year, Meizu will have only one smartphone releasing and it is said to be the Pro 6S, and the device will feature a new chipset. Sources say that Pro 6S will come sporting a 5.2-inch Full HD display which will have the Helio P20 chipset. The device's official launch is said to take place sometime in this month.

While speaking about this upcoming flagship, Nan also shared that the company is also working on its Pro 7 device which will have a 2017 launch. Prior to 2016 coming to an end, Meizu will even be launching two other budget devices as part of its Blue-Charm series.

It is note that Meizu had released the Pro 6 device in April, which happens to be an all-metal smartphone which has 3D Press feature. However, this device failed to get a release in the Indian smartphone market. It is priced between Rs 25,000 and Rs 30,000 and at this price bracket; it comes as a direct competitor for le Max 2 as well as the OnePlus 3. Though Meizu Pro 6 is stronger than the other two brand flagships, the fact that it is not available in the Indian market lowers the competition. One Plus 3 and Le Max 2 are doing a great job in India and had Pro 6 got a release here, things would have certainly been different.
