In a impressive function, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Badarpur-Faridabad Metro Line of Delhi Metro here on Sunday. It has been quoted that around two lakh people will travel between the two cities on daily basis.
According to DMRC sources, there are nine stations in this 13.875 km long section, which is an extension of Delhi Metro's Violet Line, currently running from ITO to Badarpur.
These are Sarai, NHPC Chowk, Mewala Maharajpur, Sector 28, Badkal Mor, Old Faridabad, Neelam Chowk Ajronda, Bata Chowk and Escorts Mujesar. All these stations are elevated and located on either side of the Delhi-Mathura Road.
The Prime Minister travelled from Central Delhi to Faridabad, and back, by metro. In the course of the journey, he interacted with several people, especially youth, who were also travelling on board the metro train.
Reiterating that development is the solution to all problems, the Prime Minister said the Union Government is taking all steps for India's development. He said the whole world had recently faced economic difficulties, but India's economy had stood firm.
