Speaking at the function Satish Upadhyay said that the best tribute to Dr. Mukherji is to work to strengthen the unity of India and to protect the country's territorial integrity.
New Delhi, 6th July: Delhi BJP celebrated the 115th birth anniversary of the founder of Jansangh Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherji.
On the occasion an earlier morning function was organised in a park at Feroz Shah Kotla where BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav & BJP Delhi President Satish Upadhyay, MPs Vijay Goel & Ramesh Bidhuri, Party's Delhi Organisational General Secretary Sidharthan, General Secretaries Asish Sood & Smt. Rekha Gupta and Mayors Subhash Arya & Harsh Malhotra along with other office bearers & senior leaders garlanded the statue & paid floral tributes to Dr. S.P. Mukherji.
Speaking at the function Satish Upadhyay said that the best tribute to Dr. Mukherji is to work to strengthen the unity of India and to protect the country's territorial integrity.
BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav said that the best way to understand the ideology of BJP is to read the life sketches of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherji who was a perfect educationist, humanist, politician and above all a social crusader. The BJP's principles of politics are based on these qualities of Dr. Mukherji.
Hailing the sacrifice of life made by Dr. Mukherji for the cause of national unity Ram Madhav said that Dr. Saheb was the first Indian leader to sacrifice his life to protect the territorial integrity of the India divided in 1947.
He said all his life Dr. Mukherji fought against communal appeasement. He believed in integration of minorities in the political process and we feel happy that today two states Punjab & Jammu & Kashmir where the minorties are the majority population have BJP Coalition Government's.
Ram Madhav said that today Dr. Mukherji's soul must be very happy to see BJP in power in Jammu & Kashmir. We have formed the government there to strengthen India’s sovereignty.
BJP's intention to form government with PDP was inspired by Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherji's act of helping formation of a similar government in Bengal with a basic minimum programme & intent to prevent partition of Bengal then.
