Supreme Court dismissed a curative petition filed by 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case convict Yakub Abdul Razak Memon and now he will be hanged on July 30, 7 am, Nagpur Central Jail.
An apex court bench headed by Chief Justice HL Dattu, today rejected the Memon's curative petition.
Yakub Abdul Razak Memon will be handed to death on July 30 at 7 am in the Nagpur Central Jail, where he is currently lodged.
The execution of Yakub Abdul Razak Memon will be the first execution in the 1993 blast case.
In the 1993 blasts case a special-terrorism court had convicted 100 people.
The mercy petition of Yakub Abdul Razak Memon was rejected by President Pranab Mukherjee in April this year. Then he filed his second review petition before the SC.
Menon was awarded death sentence by a Special TADA Court in Mumbai on July 27, 2007 for his role in the blasts.
