Funds for the MCDs row: Satish Upadhyay thanks Lt. Governor of Delhi Shri Najeeb Jung

New Delhi, 13th June: Delhi BJP President Satish Upadhyay thanked Lt. Governor of Delhi Shri Najeeb Jung for helping in release of funds for the MCDs for release of the salary of the  sanitation workers of Delhi.

With the release of the funds for the MCDs employees salary, 12 days old strike of the sanitation workers of Delhi ended yesterday.

Delhi BJP President Satish Upadhyay has thanked the Lt. Governor of Delhi Shri Najeeb Jung for helping in release of funds for the MCDs being stalled by the Delhi government for political reasons thus ending the 12 days old strike of the sanitation workers of Delhi.

Early this morning Satish Upadhyay along with the Chairperson of the Standing Committee of EDMC Smt. Lata Gupta, Leader of the House in EDMC Shri R.N. Dubey and several senior party functionaries inspected the sanitation works started by the municipal staff since last night. Spots he visited included opposite Akshardham Metro Station & near Shyamlal College where a very large quantity of stinking garbage lay on roads blocking traffic.

Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta along with area councillors helped the sanitation workers in the area as they returned to work. He said that in next 24 hours sanitation work will normalise in Rohini.

Upadhyay later said that due to Kejriwal government's dirty politics of stalling funds Delhi specially East Delhi witnessed a worst ever sanitation services crisis.

Upadhyay said we appreciate the fact that as soon as sanitation workers got assured that now the salaries will be released they started work late last evening and in less than first 12 hours they removed over 2000 metric tonnes of garbage from Delhi roads. He said that we hail the spirit of sanitation workers and said that we assess that by Saturday night over 3500 metric tonnes of garbage will be removed.

He said BJP Councillors are inspecting the sanitation work and our party workers too will cooperate and in next 48 hours city will get back to normal. The Sanitation & Health Inspectors have been directed to ensure that no disease get spread and sanitation workers are provided gloves & mask as needed to remove the stinking garbage.
