The 5th edition of the Hockey India Junior Men National Hockey Championship 2015 (Div B) saw teams yet again deliver an exciting day of hockey

Mysore (Karnataka), 9 April 2015: The 5th edition of the Hockey India Junior Men National Hockey Championship 2015 being played witnessed teams taking on each other at Mysore, Karnataka. The day started with the clash between Hockey Andhra Pradesh and Hockey Madhya Pradesh where Hockey Andhra Pradesh dominated the entire match and won the game 8-1. This was followed by a close match between Kerala Hockey and Hockey Jammu & Kashmir as the later lost the match 2-3. The third match for the day between Chandigarh Olympic Association scored 21 goals to beat Hockey Rajasthan convincingly. The fourth match between Hockey Patiala and Hockey Bihar was a well contested match and Hockey Patiala won 6-3. The last match for the day was completely dominated by Hockey Gangpur Odisha as they gave no chance to Assam Hockey to score a single goal, as they went on to score 15 goals and winning the match.

Hockey Andhra Pradesh and Hockey Madhya Pradesh started the day's proceedings as the former played outstanding hockey and won the match 8-1. The game started with both teams attacking but it was Hockey Andhra Pradesh who claimed the first goal in the 8th minute as a penalty corner was slammed into the nets by Kamal Rajaprabhakar. The team doubled the lead in the 19th minute as Srikanth Chemudu Gunta easily deflected a pass into the nets leaving the Hockey Madhya Pradesh completely clueless. They struck again in the 23rd minute as Kamal Rajaprabhakar scored yet again, this time through a field goal. Two minutes left into the first half, Hockey Andhra Pradesh put another dent on Hockey Madhya Pradesh as they scored goal no. 4 and taking the score to 4-0 at half time. Hockey Madhya Pradesh found some pride as immediately into the second half as they opened their score in the 37th minute coming from the stick of Ashrafulla Khan but proving to be sole goal that the team could mange in the game. The goal was immediately followed by Hockey Andhra Pradesh adding four more goals to their tally before the wining the match by 8-1.\

The second match for the day between Kerala Hockey and Hockey Jammu & Kashmir was evenly placed till half time with both teams tied at 1-1. It was the second half which turned the tables in Kerala Hockey favour as they scored in the 37thminute and taking the lead in the game. Looking at increasing the goal difference Kerala Hockey struck again in the 54thminute when Swalih Karathod entering the D beat the goalkeeper to score the third goal for the team leaving the opponents dazed. Looking at a comeback to the match Hockey Jammu & Kashmir reduced the goal difference to 2-3 in the 61st minute as Captain Ishtiaq Hussain cashed in on the penalty corner opportunity. The goal got a glimmer of hope for Hockey Jammu & Kashmir as they saw a chance to equalise. But unfortunately for Hockey Jammu & Kashmir they found it difficult to break through the shackles of Kerala Hockey as they went on win the match 3-2.

The third match for the day between Chandigarh Olympic Association scored 21 goals to beat Hockey Rajasthan convincingly. It was captain of the team, Gursewak Singh who lead from the front as he scored 6 goals and was followed by team mates Harikrat Singh adding 4 goals along with Manjider Singh and Raj Kumar clocking 3 each, giving their teams a very strong hold on the game. The first half of the game was completely dominated by Chandigarh Olympic Association as they scored 11 goals in the session leaving the opponents dazed. The goals coming in quick succession refrained Hockey Rajasthan to score as Chandigarh Olympic Association dominated the D of the opponents. The second half of the game proved to be the same story as Chandigarh Olympic Association continued their onslaught on Hockey Rajasthan adding 10 goals to the tally to win the match convincingly. Hockey Rajasthan managed to score one goal in the 41st minute as Rahul Chappola cashed on the penalty corner. Chandigarh Olympic Association beat Hockey Rajasthan 21-1.

The fourth match between Hockey Patiala and Hockey Bihar was a well contested match and Hockey Patiala won 6-3. A match which both teams will remember for a long time as it was hockey Bihar who took charge of eth initial proceedings as they struck as early as the 5th minute Vinit Ekka scored through the penalty corner. Not wasting time Hockey Bihar doubled the lead in the 8th minute as Vikas Kumar scored through a field goal. They put another dent on Hockey Patiala as Goal no. 3 was scored in the 16th minute and taking the lead in the game to 3-0. Hockey Patiala realising that they are losing hold on the game bounced back in the 18th minute as they opened their score as Parampreet Singh made no mistake in beating the goalkeeper and netting the ball. Five minutes left into the first half Hockey Patiala successfully scored another goal and reducing the goal difference. The scores at first half was 3-2 in favour of Hockey Bihar. The second half turned out to be a one sided affair as Hockey Patiala not only managed to equalise the game in the 46th minute they added another three goals before taking the game completely from Hockey Bihar, winning the match 6-3.

The last game between Hockey Gangpur Odisha taking on Assam Hockey dominated and beat the latter by 15-0. Hockey Gangpur Odisha maintained the attack in the complete game and started their goal scoring spree in the 5th minute as Sushil Ekka scored through a field goal. Next minute the lead was doubled by Rasananda Khalkho and he scored another goal in the 8th minute taking the team's score to 3-0. This was followed by Hockey Gangpur Odisha adding another 5 goals and ending the first half with 8-0 lead. Hockey Gangpur Odisha continued the same game plan in the second half as they attacked and scored goals. 37th minute and they scored the 9th goal which Sudeep Kerketta converted cleanly. Two minutes later Sanjay Xalxo scored goal no. 9 and by now almost sealing the fate of Assam hockey. Adding another 6 goals before the match ended, Hockey Gangpur Odisha won the game 15-0.
