A 6-member Japanese delegation, led by Mr. Koji Omi, former Finance Minister of Japan, met Delhi Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Manish Sisodia at the Delhi Secretariat. The delegation also included the ambassador of Japan to India, Mr. Takeshi Yagi.
Mr. Koji Omi is the founder and Chairman of Science and Technology in Society (STS) and former Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy of Japan.
The talks revolved around the importance of the role of Science and technology in the lives of the people.
Mr. Koji Omi invited the chief minister to attend the conference to be held in Japan in the month of October and be a speaker. The Chief Minister thanked him for the invite.
“Thanks for the invitation, either me or the deputy chief minister of the state would participate in the meeting,” said Mr. Kejriwal. He added, “We are committed to the use of science & technology for the betterment of the lives of the people of Delhi.”
The Ambassador of Japan to India, Mr. Takeshi Yagi, told the chief minister and the deputy chief minister that he hoped that the government will take good care of the 3,000 Japanese citizens residing in Delhi and the number of Japanese companies being run in the National capital; to which the Chief Minister replied in an affirmative, saying, ‘absolutely’.
