To protest against the unabated rise in the prices of essential commodities, Congress said that BJP Government at the Centre had totally failed to control price rise, and the people of Delhi were now experiencing very bad days. Party workers were agitating protest and the hike in cooking gas price and severe water shortage in South Delhi, under the leadership of former Delhi Assembly speaker and senior Congress leader Ch. Prem Singh.

Addressing the demonstrators, Shri Kuljit Singh Nagra and Ch. Prem Singh said the BJP Government at the Centre had totally failed to control price rise, and the people of Delhi were now experiencing very bad days. Both the leaders accused Arvind Kejriwal of being the agent of the BJP and added that to divert the attention of the people from pressing problems like price rise, power and water crises, he was creating a big drama by meeting the President. They said the Congress party will never again support such a betrayor of people’s faith. Shri Nagra said the party has taken a decision that it will never support some like Arvind Kejriwal who had paved the path easy for a party like the BJP, who was dividing the people on communal lines.
