NCR: Special drive against illicit liquor conducted

In its special drive launched against the persons involved in the trade of illicit liquor, the Govt of Delhi has recovered a huge stock of illicit liquor. The Commissioner Excise, Shri J. B. Singh, today informed that the Excise Intelligence Bureau of Excise Department has seized 5940 Bottles of illicit liquor- McDowell Whisky, Rasila Santra, Besto Whisky, Impact from various parts of the capital. He said that a number of teams were formed and raids for conducted to seize the illicit liquor.

Singh disclosed that this lot of illicit liqour was non-duty paid in the capital and was being carried by the accused unauthorisedly. Giving details of raids, Shri Singh said that Meena of Sonia Vihar was carrying 96 bottles of Besto Whisky for sale in Arunachal Pradesh and 264 bottles of Asli Santra for sale in Haryana which were recovered and the vehicle Lancer was confiscated and case registered in Khajoori Khas Police Station vide FIR no. 603. In another case, an FIR No. 469 against Rajpal, Resident of Sanjay Colony, Narela, who was carrying 48 bottles of Besto Whisky for sale in Arunachal Pradesh and 684 bottles of Asli Santra for sale in Haryana, was registered in Burari Police Station.

Commissioner Excise also informed that Azahar Khan of Tajpur Pahari, Badarpur was carrying 144 bottles of McDowel Whisky and 336 bottles of Rasila Santra for sale in Haryana were recovered were recovered and the vehicle Santro was seized and case registered in Sarita Vihar Police Station vide FIR no. 414. A case against the accused who is absconding was registered vide FIR No.451 at Kanjhawala for carrying 408 bottles of Besto Whisky and 96 bottles of Rasila Santra for sale in Haryana and the vehicle Mahindra with fake number plate was also seized in this case.

The accused was carrying 360 bottles of Besto Whisky for sale in Haryana and the vehicle Palio Car was also seized in this case.
