BJP should apologies to the people on the issue of FDI: Congress

New Delhi, Sat, 12 Jul 2014 NI Wire

DPCC president and Congress leader Arvinder Singh and HaroonYusuf said there was a huge difference in the words and deeds of the BJP. They said the BJP, which had been steadfastly opposing FDI, was now trying to bring in FDI into the defence sector, and with which the Finance Minister has proved that BJP’s earlier stand on FDI was just an eye-wash. They demanded that the BJP should apologise to the people on the issue of FDI, as now this Government was also endorsing FDI.

They said the BJP Government has fully justified the Congress Party's programmes by endorsing the policies and decisions of the UPA Government. Shri Arvinder Singh and Shri Haroon Yusuf alleged that the BJP Central leadership has not made any new announcement in this budget which would bring "achhe din" to the people of the country. They said in the name of bringing good days, the people of Delhi have been given just nominal crumps.

Sajjan Kumar and Mukesh Sharma said the fact that the residents of Jagatpuri had torched the electricity office late last night proved that the people of Delhi were very angry with the power companies. They said where this incident happened belonged to the Krishna Nagar Assembly constituency of Union Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan. Both the Congress leaders said the BJP leaders had not yet come out of their victory hangover, and due to that Delhi was still witnessing a tense situation on the power and water fronts.

Shri Mukesh Sharma said the people were searching for East Delhi MP Mahesh Giri, and all other MPs and MLAs of the BJP. He said if the problems of the people were not solved, people would take out their anger on the BJP MPs and MLAs.

Shri Anil Bhardwaj said the BJP Government had failed on all fronts, and there was no allocation in this budget which could benefit the downtrodden, the poor and the middle class. He said all the development works in the Tri Nagar Assembly constituency have come to a total halt.

Shri Mukesh Sharma announced that the Congress Party’s Halla Bol Andolan will continue tomorrow (Saturday) too. He said tomorrow at 4 p.m, under the leadership of MLA Shri Prahlad Singh Sahni, the Congress workers and local people will demonstrate against the BJP-led Central Government at Gate No 1, Jama Masjid, and a big meeting will also be held at this minority-community dominated area.
