The Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) has approved the proposal for procurement of 10-seater trailor mounted Mobile Toilet Vans with DRDO developed bio-digester technology on PPP at 67 identified locations. This technology is eco friendly and does not emit any bad odour, consumes less water and only discharge is water which can be used for gardening and other purposes. The Board has also approved to give the management of a cluster of night shelters to Shelter Management Agency on standard service conditions with a view to ensure better management of the night shelters.
On a pilot basis, it has been decided to implement this concept at Yamuna Pusta and adjoining areas of Central District in three clusters. The Chief Executive Officer (DUSIB) Shri Amar Nath informed that the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board in its 10th meeting, has approved the important proposals. The Board Meeting was chaired by Secretary (UD) Shri Rajendra Kumar and attended by Shri Gopal K Saxena, BoD BSES, Shri Sunil Kr Jha, Councillor, EDMC, Shri Devender Solanki, Councillor, NDMC, and other officials from different departments.
The meeting agenda were presented by the CEO (DUSIB) in the capacity of Member Secretary.
Shri Amar Nath informed that the Board approved procurement of 10-seater trailor mounted Mobile Toilet Vans with DRDO developed biodigester technolody on PPP at 67 identified locations. He further informed that to ensure better management of Night Shelter(around 181 in numbers) being run by DUSIB at various locations, it was resolved to give the management of a cluster of Night Shelters to Shelter Management Agency on standard service conditions. On a pilot basis it was decided to implement this concept at Yamuna Pushta and adjoining areas of Central District in three clusters. At present each Night Shelters is being managed by one or more NGOs which leads to different level of services being provided at different shelters.
