Akshay Kumar joins the Kabaddi, mix martial arts bandwagon

Bollywood sensation, martial artist and sports fanatic Akshay Kumar has once again shown his love for sports. He has bought a team based out of Punjab with World Kabaddi League coming out of India which is scheduled to roll out their matches during the second half of the year 2014. The actor has always been enthusiastic in promoting fitness and sports which encouraged him to take this decision.

Speaking on the on the association, Akshay Kumar said, "I am a sports enthusiast. It gives me immense pride to be associated with Kabbadi. My upcoming film is called Warrior and it is on the topic of mix martial arts just on the lines of Kabaddi, which is an ace indigenous contact sport from India. International platforms like World Kabaddi League will contemporize the game which will become the USP of WKL. Kabaddi is an authentic sport that puts up raw power for display and I want all my fans to watch the matches to get closer to the game. I look forward to your support in cheering for this original Indian sports."

Speaking about the association, Pargat Singh, Commissioner from World Kabaddi League, "We are extremely delighted to announce Akshay Kumar's association with World Kabaddi League. Akshay is a sports fan and he was very keen on associating with Kabaddi. WKL is an effort to professionalise the sport and take it to newer heights.
