New Training courses introduced by directorate of Union Territory

For developing efficiency and systematic approach of the officers of the government while serving the people, the Directorate of Union Territory of Civil Services has introduced new courses in the UTCS in the year 2014. The courses are of short duration. The courses include, Time Bound Public Service delivery, Self Defence for Women, Basic Life Support and First Aid, Ethics and Values in Public Governance, Functions of Tehsildars, Protecting the Environment-Clean Delhi Green Delhi, Handling Court Cases for Pairvy Officers, Preparation of Disaster Management Plan, Team Building and Group Dynamics & Protecting the Rights of Children.

Apart from organizing the above courses, the Directorate has also taken up DOPT sponsored Trainer Development Programmes. These are National level programmes in which officers of central and various state governments participate. Some of the courses conducted were on National Training Policy, Direct Training Skills, Facilitation Skills, Training Need Analysis and Systematic Approach to Training.

The Directorate has organized 298 training programme which were attended by 7411 participants in the year 2013-14 on various subjects. Apart from organizing the above skill oriented courses/training programmes. The directorate was awarded with a Merit certificate and cash prize of Rs. 5000/- for ‘Best Practices in the Field Of RTI’ by the Himachal Institute of Public Administration, Shimla, sponsored by Dept. of Personnel & Training, Govt. of India, during the Regional Workshop on the theme ‘Improving Transparency and Accountability in Government through Effective Implementation of Right to Information Act, 2005’. The award ceremony was held in the month of November 2013 in Shimla. The award was conferred to Special Director.
