Rajya Sabha MP and former Delhi BJP President Vijay Goel lambasted AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal for trying to dupe Varanasi voters by making 'false promises' in his manifesto for Varanasi.
"In Delhi also he had made several promises, none of which was fulfilled. He is making similar promises in Varanasi, "said Goel.
He has promised to give status of holy city to Varanasi but while he had an opportunity in Delhi, he did not care to give 'heritage statuses to the Chandani Chowk area. He is talking about resolving water scarcity in Varanasi; he failed to resolve the problem in Delhi. His sop of free water brought no benefit to 98 per cent Delhi’ites.
Kejriwal is talking about welfare of the labour in Varanasi while he failed to fufill promise of regularisation of contract employees in Delhi. Kejriwal has talked about removing corruption but he failed to register even a single case of corruption against any of the Congress leaders during his 49 days government.
All those promises which Kejriwal made in Delhi and could not be fulfilled will be taken up also in Varanasi by a team of BJP cadres led by Sh. Goel. It will be equipped with informative material will launch a special campaign to expose Kejriwal in last leg of campaigning. The campaign is titled "Beware Varanasi! Kejriwal duped Delhi."
"We will approach households and hold corner meetings across the constituency to inform voters how AAP's Chief betrayed the people of Delhi. He ran away displaying great irresponsibility. The result is that today Delhi’ites have to suffer in absence of an elected government," said Sh. Goel.
"We will tell people of Varanasi how he gave away more than Rs 370 crore of public money to power companies in the garb of subsidy and there is no respite in tariffs, how he messed up with admission policy for nursery schools leading to harrowing experience for hundreds of parents,"said Sh. Goel.
"We will also tell people in Varansai how Kejriwal created a mess in Delhi, how he hobnobbed with Congress and how he and his party colleagues have taken anti-national stand on Kashmir and Maoism," Goel said.
