At the direction of the All India Congress Committee general-secretary and incharge of Delhi Affairs Dr Shakeel Ahmed, the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee has decided to dissolve all the 14 district and 140 block Congress Committees with immediate effect. In a statement DPCC chief spokesperson and senior leader Mukesh Sharma said the appointment of all the district and block presidents and their office-bearers have been dissolved from their posts forthwith. DPCC president Shri Arvinder Singh, MLA and AICC general secretary and in-charge of Delhi affairs Dr Shakeel Ahmed took this decision at a meeting.
Shri Mukesh Sharma said in a statement that this decision was taken to strengthen and revitalize the party in Delhi. He said in March this year, the DPCC office-bearers had also been dissolved. He said the office-bearers of all the cells and departments have also bee dissolved with immediate effect.
Mukesh Sharma said the party will take steps to give a new direction to the party in the next one month and the process will be completed quickly. He said committed and devoted party workers will be given appropriate positions in the party organization. He said to keep proper balance in the party organization, proper representation will be given to all sections of people, including youth, women, minorities, OBC and the scheduled castes. The party has also decided to give strong representation upto the polling-booth levels.
