Delhi Transco Limited awarded ISO 9001: 2008 certification

Principal Secretary (Power) and CMD (Delhi Transco) Arun Goel today informed that Delhi Transco Limited has been awarded ISO 9001: 2008 certification in recognition of its quality management systems in management of operation, maintenance and monitoring of Extra High Voltage Network of Delhi.

Shri Goel said that initially Delhi Transco was given ISO Certification for its thirty two field installations in March 2011. Now the certification has been awarded to the company as a whole.

He said that ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is the world’s largest developer of voluntary International Standards which develop and publish state of the art specifications for products, services and good practice, helping to make industry more efficient and effective. Developed through global consensus, these standards are strategic tools that reduce costs by minimizing waste and errors and increasing productivity. ISO International Standards ensure that products and services are safe, reliable and of good quality.

\The audit for the certification was done by certifying agency M/s URS Certification Limited during 4th March 2014 to 7thMarch 2014. On the basis of this certification audit, ISO Certification has been granted. ISO certification of DTL is one step forward in its efforts of keeping its delivery systems, state-of-the-art and up-to-date.

On this occasion Shri Goyal expressed his happiness and appreciated the dedicated efforts of the officials of DTL in streamlining the functioning of the organisation in accordance with international standards. Shri Goyal further added that the adaptation of international standards will help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, thereby contributing to the quality and availability of power supply to citizens of Delhi.
