Senior Citizen Recreation Centre was inaugurated by Dr. Harshvardhan (Minister for Science, Technology and Earth Science, Govt. of India) Chief Guest Satish Upadhyay, (President, Delhi BJP) alongwith Mayor Yogender Chandolia and Chairman Standing Committee Mohan Bhardwaj at Pitampura, Delhi.
Recreation Centre is built under the leadership and efforts of BJP Councillor, Pitampura, Mrs. Rekha Gupta with the cost of Rs. 2.20 Crore by Municipal Corporation of Delhi. It has recreational facilities for Senior Citizens i.e. Library, Ladies GYM, Yoga Centre, Swimming Pool.
On this occasion, Dr. Harshvardhan said Government is making sincere efforts in framing policies to promote entrepreneurial skills for the Development of the science and technology in the country. Dr. Harshvardhan said the recreation centre is marvellous centre, he has ever seen during his tenure.
Satish Upadhyay said addition of lift facilities and ramp in recreation centre will enhance and benefit the senior citizens immensely.
Mrs. Rekha Gupta, BJP Councillor, speaking on this occasion said swimming pool project will be completed by April 2015, in senior citizen recreation centre. Mrs. Gupta, thanked Chief Engineer Pradeep Bansal, S.S. Rana, Director Community Service Department for their Co-operation in technical and managerial skills in completing the project successfully.
Mrs. Rekha Gupta also thanked all the Residents, Resident Welfare Associations and Representatives of different communities & all BJP Zilla & Mandal officials for their remarkable presence on this occasion. All the personalities present on this occasion appreciated continuous development efforts by Mrs. Rekha Gupta for the society.
Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, Organised Free Health Check-Up at recreation centre for senior citizens. Also, Free Membership of recreation centre for senior citizens was carried out during this occasion.
