The Aam Aadmi Party congratulates people, who posted questions and issues that they wanted Prime Minister Narendra Modi to respond to in his monthly radio address "Mann Ki Baat". The Aam Aadmi Party's invitation to people to ask questions from Mr. Modi received overwhelming response. Most of the questions were about governments 'U' turn on black money.
While we appreciate that bowing to the demand of people, Prime Minister spoke on the issue of black money, what he said on the issue was very disappointing. During his election campaign Mr. Modi was quoting exact figures of black money stashed away in foreign accounts. Not just that, he had been claiming that once the money came back, all Indians would get 15 lakh rupees each. His party president Mr. Rajnath Singh had promised to bring back all the black money stashed away in foreign bank accounts in hundred days. From Mr. Subramanian Swami to Baba Ramdev, all his supporters and campaigners had claimed they had "exact" figure of the black money in foreign accounts. It is shocking that in today's address Mr. Modi said that he had no clue how much money was deposited in illegal bank accounts abroad.
We thank people who participated and sent questions for the Prime Minister's address. Asking questions makes democracy stronger and the government accountable. We would also expect Mr. Modi to respond to the issues raised by people in his address to the nation.
