Maharashtra will progress only after removing the Congress-NCP from power: PM Narendra Modi

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today addressed an Election Rally in Kolhapur. He said Maharashtra cannot process without removing the Congress-NCP from power.

He said the NCP and Congress are upset by the massive response that he is receiving in the state of Maharashtra. He said today all of India needs Kolhapuri chappals, so that it can march rapidly on the path of progress.

He said if the Congress and NCP were defeated and the BJP elected with full majority, then the stagnation of the last 15 years would be a thing of the past.

The Prime Minister said those who were ruling for 60 years, were demanding an account of his 60 days in power. The Prime Minister said he was ready to be give an account to the people of every minute in power, and of every penny. He said the Congress and NCP would be wiped out in the assembly elections, as the political mood had changed. He said the people of Maharashtra wanted change, and wanted a full majority government.

The Prime Minister said the state of Maharashtra and the people have the strength to be an engine of economic growth for the country. But that would require a BJP government with full majority in the state, he added.

He asked the vociferous crowd if they wanted Maharashtra to progress. He said this was not possible without removing the Congress-NCP from power. The Prime Minister said both the Congress and the NCP had the same character. He said they are not "rashtrawaadi" but "bhrashtachaarwaadi."

He said the Congress had themselves moved away from the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi. The Congress did not want Gandhi, he said, they only wanted cash with Gandhi (picture) printed on it.

He said there were 32 lakh families in the country who received a meagre pension of Rs 50 or 100 or 200 from the Union Government.he said the Union Government had taken a decision to keep the minimum pension at Rs. 1000.

The Prime Minister said he is often criticized by people these days for not giving any big vision. But he added, he is a common man, and wants to do big things for the common people.

The Prime Minister said today there was a new respect in the world for India. This was due to the decisive mandate given to the Union Government by 125 crore Indians.

Shri Narendra Modi said the BJP stood for "Sabka saath, sabka vikas." He exhorted the people to give the BJP a full majority in the state.
