Washington, June 4 (IANS) England midfielder Frank Lampard suggested Major League Soccer (MLS) would be one of the options for his post-Chelsea career after the World Cup.
Lampard told the press Tuesday he would not hurry to make decisions about his future, but it's reported that his agent has been in talks with New York City FC, a new MLS club, reports Xinhua.
The club, jointly owned by Manchester City and Major League Baseball's New York Yankees, is to debut in February 2015. Lampard said it was an option he was considering.
"The America thing is an option. I am looking at different options. The main thing is that I want to carry on playing, I feel very fit and fresh and I am enjoying it," he said.
Lampard, 35, said Monday he would leave Chelsea after 13 years with the club and the World Cup is likely to mark the end of his international career.
