New Delhi, April 28 (IANS) BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has appealed to voters of Lucknow to support party president Rajnath Singh in the Lok Sabha election, saying that both of them together "will take forward the work done" by former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

In his address to the people of Lucknow released by the Bharatiya Janata Party Monday, Modi said that he wanted to himself come and meet people of Lucknow in the "karambhumi (land of work)" of Vajpayee but he was touring the country.

Vajpayee was a five-time MP - 1991, 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2004 - from Lucknow which goes to the polls April 30.

Portraying Rajnath Singh and himself as inheritors of Vajpayee's legacy, Modi said he was addressing rallies across the country to fulfill the dream of Vajpayee.

"To fulfill dreams of Atalji, the pair of Narendra Modi and Rajnath Singh want to put all their efforts. Make Rajnath victorious and give us both a chance to fulfill dreams of Atalji. We will together take forward the work built by him. We will add to glory of Lucknow and create a new identity for it in India," he said.

"I have full faith you will vote in huge numbers, make Rajnathji victorious and both of us will fulfill dream your dreams," he said.
