Los Angeles, April 15 (IANS) Actor Brad Pitt is set to star as General Stanley McChrystal, former commanding general of international and US forces in Afghanistan, in "The Operators".
To be co-produced by Pitt's Plan B along with New Regency and Brett Ratner's RatPac Entertainment, the film is a real life story based on journalist Michael Hasting's 2012 book "The Operators: The Wild and Terrifying Inside Story of America's War in Afghanistan", which he wrote after researching and following the general for his award-winning Rolling Stone article "The Runaway General", reports contactmusic.com.
Australian filmmaker David Michod will write and direct the movie.
