At the Hyland School, Chelmsford, Essex, the kids love to read in front of Flossie, a 10-month-old cockapoo, because she allows them to read more fluently without interrupting to correct mistakes, the Daily Star reported.

Sue Frost, school's deputy head, said that Flossie is also helping kids learn foreign languages as they teach her commands in French and Spanish.

Sue said that the pooch's arrival had boosted literacy levels at the school, which had "struggled" to get good Ofsted reports.

She added that research shows that finding creative ways of boosting grades is leading to higher results. (ANI)
