Cellphone analyst reveals 'murder accused' Pistoruis used cell for internet connection at 01:48 am

Johannesburg, Tue, 25 Mar 2014 ANI

Johannesburg, Mar. 25, (ANI): A cellphone analyst has reportedly revealed during Oscar Pistorius' murder trial that a phone belonging to the Paralympic runner was used for an internet connection at 01:48 on the morning he shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp dead.

Police cellphone analyst Captain Francois Moller has reportedly testified that the connection lasted for five minutes and 15 seconds.

According to News24, Pistorius said at his bail application that he was woken up on 14 February by what he thought was an intruder in his house after he and Steenkamp went to bed around 10:00 on 13 February.

The North Gauteng High Court is reportedly hearing evidence from Moller on what his analysis of Pistorius and Steenkamp's phones has yielded.

Neighbours have also reportedly testified to hearing screams and what sounded like gunshots from the Pistorius' house around 03:00 on Valentine's Day.

Pistorius maintains that he mistook Steenkamp for an intruder in his house on Valentine's day and shot her dead through a toilet door, realizing afterwards that it was his girlfriend in there, the report added. (ANI)
