New Delhi, Mar 23, (ANI): National spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nirmala Sitharaman, on Sunday categorically rejected any room for the Sri Ram Sene chief Pramod Muthalik's inclusion into the party fold.
"The central BJP has clearly rejected the admission of the Sri Ram Sene chief, and this message has been conveyed to the state unit of the BJP. The state BJP will soon issue a statement to this effect. Very clearly, the central leadership of the BJP felt very strongly about his (Pramod Muthalik) admission and has clearly instructed the same to the state BJP," Sitharaman said.
Earlier today, the controversial right wing outfits chief Pramod Muthalik had joined the BJP in Karnataka amidst the presence of state BJP leaders.
Muthalik had courted a huge controversy in 2009 after members of his Sri Ram Sene carried out an attack on a pub in Mangalore during which young women were dragged out. He had also carried out a campaign against the celebration of Valentine's Day. (ANI)
