Washington, Mar. 18 (ANI): Facebook is reportedly teaming with TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) a global set of conferences owned by the private non-profit Sapling Foundation, to produce content for its social news reader app 'Paper'.
Facebook's Paper app includes an 'Ideas section' which typically changes each day to highlight a new theme or topic, but for this week, it would feature TED material exclusively during its TED2014 conference in Vancouver.
According to Mashable, Paper would feature content from TED attendees, including blog posts and talk videos from the conference.
It is the first time that Paper has collaborated with any outside group for content like this, or featured the same topic more than once in its Ideas section.
Facebook product manager for Paper, Michael Reckhow said that Paper's sections could be a great way for people to get connected to events of interest and importance instantly.
A Facebook spokesperson has revealed that the Facebook-TED collaboration is a trial, and if things go well, it's likely that Facebook will team with other organizations in the future, the report added. (ANI)
