Now, gesture control your appliances with wearable ring

Washington , Sun, 02 Mar 2014 ANI

Washington, Mar. 02 (ANI): A new hi-tech ring reportedly allows wearer to control devices and give input by gesture of fingers.

Kickstarter project, Ring, is a hardware device that resembles an ordinary ring, but is filled with sensors and electronics to use gesture control.

According to Tech Crunch, the Ring enables gesture controls, including drawing letters in the air for text input, gesture-based authorization for finalizing payments, and transmit alerts from connected devices via a built-in vibration motor and onboard LED.

The sensors in the device are receptive to even smallest finger movements and the device works with preset gestures for common controls like calling up messages, playing music or activating the camera.

However, users can also configure their own custom gestures using the companion app and connect it to other Bluetooth 4.0 devices that are compatible with its software, or to any Wi-Fi or IR capable device via a hub accessory that receives commands from the Ring itself and then passes those on.

The Ring is available in six finger sizes and works currently with iOS and Android, and single unit pre-orders start at 165 dollars. (ANI)
