BJP, Congress purportedly caused price rise in Delhi: AAP

New Delhi , Sat, 22 Feb 2014 ANI

New Delhi, Feb.22 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia on Saturday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress had caused price rise in Delhi on purpose and added that the party has called for a CAG enquiry in the matter.

"The Congress and the BJP have caused price rise in Delhi on purpose. We have ordered for a CAG inquiry and until CAG inquiry is not done, the subsidy must be availed," said Sisodia.

"The prices will definitely come down after the report is out and we have put a proposal of six months. The Congress and the BJP have been involved in crores of scams and they are worried to give 2000 crores of subsidies for the people," he said.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Haroon Yusuf said, "Kejriwal has habit of lying with confidence. Then he tries to make people believe his lies."

"If the Congress or any other political party announces such rebates to electricity bill defaulters, then it will be undemocratic. It means that you are awarding the people who violated the law," he added.

He appreciated the High Court decision to put a stay on this decision of the Delhi Government and said, "It is a welcome decision."

The Delhi High Court on Friday had stayed the decision of the Delhi Government to provide 50 percent rebate to the people who did not pay their electricity bills during the period October 2012 to December 2013. (ANI)
