Mangalore, (Karnataka), Feb. 18 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Tuesday said the Congress Party has ruined the country, and that it could not tolerate the people questioning them.
"Congress has ruined the country, and they cannot tolerate it if people ask them questions. They do not believe in democracy, and if a political party in the world's largest democracy does not believe in the same, what will happen to the country?" he asked, while addressing a rally in Mangalore.
"That is why it is important to know that their promises and slogans are to mislead the people. People are unemployed, farmers are committing suicide, and women are struggling to protect their self-respect and dignity. They have done absolutely nothing for the country," he said.
Earlier in the day Modi, while addressing a rally in Devangere had said that the Congress had hurt the people of Telangana, and that they had no time to address the issues of the people there.
He had also said that Congress and corruption were twin sisters. (ANI)
