Zanjeer is the remake of 1973-hit-movie with the same name that starred Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Pran, Om Prakash, Ajit Khan and Bindu.
Zanjeer remake will be simultaneously released in Telugu by the name Toofan.

Story:

Vijay is an honest police officer whose parents have been killed when he was young by a mysterious man. Whenever he chases mafia goons, he gets transferred. This time he gets his hand on a case where the only witness to a murder Mala, is refusing to cooperate with the police, as she fears the gang leader Teja.

Vijay somehow convinces Mala to cooperate with police and in return gives her shelter in his home to protect her. Slowly both start to have feelings for each other.

Meanwhile Vijay also comes across Sher Khan, who runs an illegal car business. He then confronts Sher Khan and after watching Vijay's honesty and determination, Sher Khan changes his way of life and also helps him take down Teja.

As he takes down Teja, he is sent to 6 months jail on false account. After returning, he makes plan on taking revenge.

Pre Review:

Ram Charan is making Bollywood debut with this movie and has not done a good job. Maybe he needed a stronger script than the one Zanjeer has.

It is the third remake of Amitabh Bachchan of which Priyanka Chopra is a part of. Though the first two Don and Agneepath were a hit, it will be hard for this movie to make money ringing on Box office. Priyanka has done a farely good job in the movie considering she had less screen space amidst all the action of Ram Charan and Prakash Raj.

Prakash Raj is a real villain. Though he has now portrayed same kind of characters in more than 10 Bollywood movies but he always gets something new for his fans.

Sanjay Dutt as Sher Khan is not at all convincing as Pran was.
