In a major incident in Mumbai, fire broke out on the sets of popular TV comedy show "Comedy Nights With Kapil" at Goregaon Film City Wednesday morning However, no causalities were reported, said an official.
The accident was reported around 6:30 a.m.
"It is unfortunate that such an incident has occurred on the sets of 'Comedy Nights With Kapil'. There have been no casualties and we are currently in the process of assessing the extent of the damage," the official from Colors channel said in a statement.
"Meanwhile, we are focusing all our efforts to resume shooting for the show so that we have no disruption and we don't disappoint our loyal viewers," the official added.
The extent of damage due to the fire is yet to be ascertained.
"Comedy Nights With Kapil" airs on Colors and famous Singer Sonu Nigam was likely to come as a celebrity guest for the show.
