Designer Manish Malhotra showcases ethnic Indian wear at LFW curtain raiser

Ace designer Manish Malhotra showcased his beautiful ethnic Indian collections during the curtain-raiser for the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013.

Malhotra displayed the traditional Indian outfits which included saris, ghaghra cholis, skirts among others. The designer used lots of pastel greens, pink, and cream along with mirror works.

He used sahara pants as a substitute to ghaghra and fitted tops was elegant and neat. The ghaghra pants and skirts had detailed embroidery work towards the hemline. The saris and ghaghra cholis looked astonishing with lots of embellishment and blings that added grace and style to the attire.

With a mix of silk, nets and georgettes, Malhotra played with different collars and cuts that gave the clothes elegant look. Unlike other shows, this time two models were simultaneously walking in a ramp with similar colour schemes.

Malhotra also showcased men's wear including smart pants, kurtas, dhotis and much more.

As Manish is known for this time also the show witnessed lots of film fraternity people that included Karan Johar, Lara Dutta, and Jacqueline Fernandes among others made their presence at the show.

The fashion week will be on Aug 23-27 at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai.
