The BJP has accused UPA for mishandling the economy of the country. Party has alleged that UPA is responsible for the causing all roun hardship to the people.
Party general secretary and spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy has said the economy was on a downslide though an economist led the government.
He said GDP growth was hovering around 4.8 percent, industrial production growth was down to one percent, and growth in mining sector had slid to 3.1 percent.
He further said, “India’s soverign rating is under threat, private spending has hit an all-time low. Foreign direct investment has gone down by 38 percent."
Commenting on the Bharat Nirman issue, Rudy said that Manmohan Singh government was talking of “Bharat Nirman” when people were reeling under price rise and its policies were not reducing unemployment.
Demanding Prime Minister to explain his position, Rudy said that never ever has been economy in such a state.
