Islamabad , Mon, 16 Dec 2013 ANI

Islamabad, Dec.16 (ANI): A strategic paper prepared for the "Green Book" of the Pakistan Army, has recommended that it must acquire a television channel to disseminate propaganda and to counter Indian televison channels in the country.

According to The News, the recommendation has been made by a serving major general of the Pakistan Army.

The "Green Book" is published every two years by the General Headquarters, Rawalpindi.

It is an internal and confidential publication, meant only for the officers of the Pakistan Army.

The recommendation for acquiring a televison channel has been made by Major General Muhammad Azam Asif, who commands an infantry division of the Pakistan Army.

Major General Asif maintains that Pakistani media lacks credibility among the masses, due to which the latter often turns to All India Radio and the BBC, besides Indian satellite channels for news, especially during times of crises in the country.

According to Major General Asif, India is Pakistan's adversary, and a country that has taken giant strides in terms of media power, and is using this medium to score over Pakistan very effectively..

He has demanded that there should be a brainstorming session between the Pakistani media and the Pakistan Army to counter the Indian propaganda. (ANI)
