India’s ace boxer M C Mary Kom was the center of attraction when she walked on the ramp in the concluded North East Festival in capital. Her confidence and attraction on the ramp was enough to say that the queen of boxing ring is aware about all the things except the punch and knock in the ring. Apart from her actor Adil Hussain also walked the ramp on the last day of North East Festival 2013.
During the show, MC Mary Kom, shared her difficulties while she scaled the heights of success. She said that nobody in the family or friends wanted her to be in Boxing, but discipline, will power, hard work and persistence was there in her and she took the sport as a challenge hence she was able to succeed.
Stating about her future and career, She said “some of my dreams have come true but not yet fulfilled completely.”
Taking a step further actor Adil Hussain, also shared his views and said that a person should be happy in whatever he or she is doing and the parents should be guided by their children rather than guiding them. He further said, “One should choose their profession according to their choices and remain focused on it, they should love what they do and do all the hard work and success will follow you.”
In a two day carnival which was held in New Delhi on 8th& 9th November, 2013 at the IGNCA celebrated and showcased not only the cultural & traditional past, present and future of the region but also created awareness about the region and showcase its prospects and potentials.
The event was a combined effort of various prominent personalities of North East and organised by Trend MMS, the reputed Trust of the region and is supported by All Eight States of NER, supported by Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of DoNER and was the biggest such event outside of the North East. It had dances, musical performances, photography exhibition, ethnic food stalls, ethnic handicrafts and handloom stalls, exhibition of all NER States, fashion show as well as serious discussions on the issues of security, tourism opportunities, employment options, and such issues near to the hearts of North East Indians.
