Former health minister Harsh Vardhan is likely to be the Chief Ministerial candidate for BJP defeating Vijay Goel in the race in the coming polls starting December 4 according to the sources.
According to the party sources, the central committee of the party has already decided upon the name of Harsh Vardhan as Chief Ministerial candidate but is still to announce formally.
If confirmed, the 58-year-old ENT specialist will fight the elections in the capital against Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and recently formed Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal.
Dr Harsh Vardhan, who has been elected as an MLA for four times served as health minister under BJP governments in the city is much known for his efforts in the implementation of national pulse polio campaign and other public health initiatives.
Moreover, he never became a part of any controversies or corruption during his service tenure, which makes him even strong name for the post.
